Replace batteries in time
Most faults start with a flat battery. Locks give a warning before the battery runs out. Have your maintenance team track those warnings and replace batteries floor by floor in one round, instead of waiting until a guest is locked out.
Keep software and locks in sync
Synchronise the locks with your lock management software regularly. That keeps times, access rights and audit trails correct, so after an incident you can see exactly who opened which door and when.
Look at the door, not just the lock
A door that sags or sticks strains the lock with every movement. Check hinges and closers, and have a lock that runs heavy inspected before it jams.
Take care of cards and encoders
Keep keycards clean and dry, and keep the encoder at the front desk free of dust. An encoder that reads poorly looks like a lock problem, while the cause is at the counter.
Plan preventive maintenance
With a service contract ISC visits periodically to check and synchronise all locks, and trains your team. Small issues get solved before a guest notices them.
